Fees & Rebates

Throughout my journey as a Psychologist, I have found that clients experience better results through consistent participation. This can help strengthen your understanding and facilitate lasting positive changes. The number of sessions needed depends on several factors. Generally, individual counselling often spans 6-10 sessions for optimal outcomes. For persistent difficulties, it is encouraged to consider more frequent sessions on a regular basis. This approach can lead to greater progress and improvement.

Insightology is a private practice, so whilst we do not bulk bill, our fees are lower than the APS National Schedule of Recommended Fees which is set at $311 for an individual 50-minute session. You may be eligible for a rebate via a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) or Private Health provider, which can help offset the fee.

Session Fees - $230 full fee per 50-minute session (in-person/telehealth/telephone)

For information on Private Health fund rebates, please contact your Health fund directly to ask, as rebate amounts vary between Private Health funds.
The full fee is payable at the time of your appointment via Stripe, a secure online payment platform which accepts all major debit and credit cards. Any rebates from Medicare or Private Health are then paid back to you directly from them. Insightology is able to provide psychological services to NDIS clients who are plan-managed or self-managed. The fee for these services is $230 per 50-minute session.
 
Medicare offers rebates for Australian citizens who visit their Psychologist. To obtain a referral, you will need to visit your General Practitioner (GP) for a Mental Health Care Plan consultation and discuss your mental health concerns. Your GP will provide you a referral called a “Mental Health Care Plan”, which entitles you to Medicare Rebates. Bring this document to your first consultation at Insightology or email it through, and the Medicare Claim will be processed on your behalf after each appointment. Medicare will rebate $96.65 to your bank account typically within 48 hours, meaning that your out of pocket total cost for the session is $133.35. You are entitled to 10 Medicare rebated sessions in a calendar year (January to December). Medicare does not cover late cancellations or non-attendance fees.

Cancellations-
In order for Insightology to provide efficient and timely services to all clients, we kindly ask that you notify the practice as soon as possible and provide at least 48 hours’ notice (2 business days) before your scheduled appointment. This advance notice allows us to accommodate other clients who may be eagerly awaiting an available slot. Please be aware that failure to attend an appointment or cancelling with less than 48 hours' notice will result in a cancellation fee of $115, 50% of the scheduled session fee. Any emergency situations will be taken into consideration.
